A names, Ancient Germanic, Earth, Female, Greek, Nature, Virtues/Attributes

Adelia is an elaborated form of Adela, derived from Germanic element adal meaning “noble”.

Adelia is also the name of a genus of flowering plants but it seems to have a different source, coming from Greek meaning “not visible” or “invisible” from Greek elements (not) and delos (visible) although I can’t attest to the accuracy of that.

Origin: Germanic, Greek

  • Adelya (English)
  • Adela (English, Spanish, Romanian, Polish, Ancient Germanic)
  • Adella (English)
