November is the eleventh month of the year according to the Gregorian calender. It comes from Latin novem meaning “nine” derived from Proto-Indo-European *h₁néwn̥ (nine). It was originally the ninth month of the Roman calender which originally consisted of ten months before the addition of two more months.
