Menodora is a Greek female name meaning “gift of the moon” or “moon’s gift” from Ancient Greek elements mene (moon) and doron (gift). It’s the name of a 4th century martyr who, along with her sisters Metrodora and Nymphadora, were tortured and killed for refusing to renounce their religion.
