Malduc

Malduc is the name of a powerful sorcerer in the Arthurian legends who helped Arthur get Guinevere back after she was kidnapped. The meaning of the name is uncertain though it may be linked to Máel Máedóc meaning “disciple of Máedóc”, Máedóc perhaps being a diminutive of Aodh meaning “my little Aodh“, the latter derived from Áed meaning “fire” while Máel means “servant, devout follower” when combined with a name element; as a word it also means “bald, shaved, tonsured”.
