Rohini

Rohini is an Indian female name and another name for Aldebaran, the name of the brightest star in the Taurus constellation. Rohini means “the red one” and is the name of the principal wife of Krishna in Hindu mythology, who was the avatar of the god Vishnu, as well as the name of a consort of the moond god Chandra. I’ve also seen Rohini listed as meaning “rising, ascending towards, increasing” but I’m not sure which of the meanings is correct, or if they’re both correct.
