Loris

Loris is the Italian diminutive of Lorenzo, the Italian and Spanish form of Latin Laurentius derived from a Roman cognomen meaning “from Laurentum”, Laurentum being an ancient city in Italy most likely derived from Latin laurus meaning “laurel”. Loris has also been used as a femle name in English, likely for its similarity to names like Laura and Lora. Loris is also the name of a type of primate found in India and southeast Asia.
