Rialta

Rialta is a female name as well as an Irish word, the anglicized form of ríagalta meaning “regular, habitual; bound by rule”. It’s also a feminine form of Rialto, the name of a city in Venice. It comes from Rivoaltus meaning “high bank” or “deep river” made up from rivo, the Italian word for “stream, bank, shore, brook” from Latin rīvus derived from a PIE root word; and altus meaning “high, tall” and “deep”.

Origin: Proto-Indo-European
