Tara

Tara comes from an anglicized form of Irish Teamhair meaning “high place” or “high hill” from temair. The name comes from a place in Ireland called the Hill of Tara which according to tradition was the seat of the high kings of Ireland. Although more commonly used as a female name, it’s also had use as a male name as well. Tara also comes from Sanskrit tara meaning “star” which derives from PIE *h₂stḗr (star). Tara is the name of a goddess in Hinduism and Buddhism.
