Chelan

Chelan is the name of a county in Washington which gets its name from a nearby lake. The name itself comes from a Chelan Indian word, Tsi-laan, meaning “deep water”. Chelān چلان is also the name of a few villages in Iran. According to Google Translate it means moon but I’m not confident in its accuracy, especially since I’ve seen چاند (cānd) listed as the Urdu word for moon.

Origin: Native American
