Shiori is a Japanese unisex name (though far more commonly used for girls) with a variety of meanings depending on the kanji used:

  • shi 詩 “poem; poetry” + ori 織 “weave; fabric” (詩織); *girls only
  • shiori 栞 “bookmark; guidebook”;
  • shiori 撓 “lithe; bend”;
  • shi 史 “history; chronicle” + ori 織 “weave; fabric” (史織);
  • shio 汐 “eventide; tide; saltwater; opportunity” + ri 里 “village; hometown”; (汐里)

There are other meanings depending on the kanji used. Written in hiragana it’s しおり.
