Medina

Medina is the name of a city in Saudi Arabia and is considered a holy site by Muslims, as well as the burial site of the prophet Muhammad. It comes from Arabic al-madina الْمَدِينَة meaning “the city”. Medina is also a Spanish and Sephardic Jewish surname, a locational name for someone who came from any of several places called Medina in Spain, which also originates from Arabic.
