Tricia is a short form of Patricia, the feminine form of Patrick, an Irish and English name which comes via Latin Patricius meaning “patrician” used to refer to the elite of the Roman aristocracy descended from the founding fathers of Rome. It derives from Latin patres “father” which is the plural form of pater meaning “father; head of the household” derived from a PIE root word. It has since attained the idea of “nobleman, noble”.

Origin: Proto-Indo-European
