Loren

Loren is an English unisex name, either a variant spelling of Lauren, which is the feminine form of Laurence, or as a shortened form of Laurence, derived from Roman cognomen Laurentius meaning “from Laurentum”, Laurentum being an ancient city in Italy most likely derived from Latin laurus meaning “laurel”. It derives from Ancient Greek daphne (laurel, bay), likely coming from a much older source; the letters changed from d- to l- due to a change in dialect.

Loren could also be used as a nickname for Lorenzo, the Italian and Spanish form of Laurence. Loren is also a surname.
