Bodhi

Bodhi is a concept in Buddhism that refers to the state of enlightenment that occurs when one reaches the state of nirvanawhich ends the cycle of death and rebirth and all suffering that comes with it. Bodhi comes from Sanskrit meaning “awakened, enlightened”, essentially referring to someone who has obtained perfect knowledge and wisdom, deriving from PIE root word *bʰewdʰ- (to be awake, be aware).
