Karma

Karma is the name of a concept or belief in several Eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism) in which the sum actions of an individual determines their next life. If a person has done good deeds in their life, they can expect good things to happen in their next one, and vice versa with bad actions and deeds. It means “action, deed, fate” from Sanskrit karman (action, act, performance) which ultimately derives from PIE root word *kʷer- (to do, to make, to build).

Origin: Proto-Indo-European
