Darnell

Darnell comes from an English surname, originating from the name of a type of plant called darnel that was believed to cause intoxication, also known as Lolium temulentum. It comes via Old French darnelle, possibly derived from a Proto-Germanic origin, *darjaną (to harm, injure). It’s also possible that it may be composed of Old English elements dyrne (hidden; secret) and halh (corner, nook, recess).
