Primavera

Primavera means "spring" in many Romance languages (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Galician, Catalan, Asturian) which comes from Vulgar Latin *prīmavēra (spring) made up from Latin primus (first) and *vēra (summer), essentially meaning "first summer". Apparently vera, which is the plural form of Latin ver (spring), originally meant spring before it somehow shifted to mean "summer" in Vulgar Latin.
